My rules for writing:

It's okay to be obssessive.

Don't forget to eat breakfast because if you're having a good writing day you won't remember to eat lunch.

It's okay to be obssessive.

Make sure you like what you write and accept with good grace that you may be the only person who does.

It's okay to be obssessive.

Don't forget to feed the dogs and the children.

It's okay to be obssessive.

If you're going to be obsessive, learn to spell it correctly.

It's okay to be obsessive.

Something that's helping me write today: the dictionary.

"That's all you got?"
"Yep, today that's all I've got."

I like the obsessive rule . . . feeding the dog and kids is important, too because they will whine is you forget.

    Hope the writing went great.

At least the kids will eventually give up and go make themselves a sandwich. The dogs are relentless. :)

I'd never used either of those before, but I'm sticking both at the top of my faves list. How cool is it not to have to fish around my desk for a pair of reading glasses every time I want to look something up?

Though I do admit, actually having a dictionary or thesaurus in my hands makes me feel smart. Which is weird if you think about it since I'm holding it because I have to look something up, which ought to make me feel not smart. ;)

The tip about breakfast is spot on. Food is a much lower priority than page count most days. :)

    Hi Regina!
Did you change your background, or have I been visiting so many blogs I'm beginning to get them confused? I love dictionary.com and their thesaurus option. I have a dog, too. If I'm involved in writing and haven't taken him out, he'll park himself by my feet and go up on his hind legs in a begging stance. If I ignore him he'll start with pitiful whimpers.

@ L.A. When food vs. page count, if it's a good writing day (I'm likin' what I'm typin') then page count rules. Sadly, if it's a tough writing day, food is a tempting distraction. :(

@ Wendy Yep, I changed the background. The Hulk Green was starting to scare me.

    RE: dictionary.com & thesaurus.com

Maybe not so good as you have to be on the Internet to utilize them. Ruh roh!

True. And since I can't be on the internet during my writing time, looks like I'm stuck with an old-fashioned thesaurus until after Easter.

But the good news is that I got a good bit accomplished today because that internet cord was hangin' on the curtain rod. :)
